How To Clean Wood Kitchen Cabinets?

To minimize any damage to your cabinets associated with the effects of grease, moisture and food spills associated with normal household work, your cabinets should be treated as you would treat fine furniture.

Minneapolis Contractor’s Choice-MCC recommends that you to follow these simple steps to care for your cabinetry:

Solid Wood, Aluminum, Thermofoil, Eurotek, Melamine, Aluminum Cabinetry

Clean cabinets using a soft, damp cloth (not a paper towel) and a mild, non-detergent soap (just a few drops of liquid dish soap in a your cleaning pail of warm water will work). Make sure to dry the cabinets immediately. Do not wax, polish or use abrasive cleansers. Don’t spay cleaner directly on your cabinet and don’t leave damp cloths over cabinets, as moisture can damage the finish.

Wood and Eurotek Cabinetry

The hard, catalyzed varnish protecting your cabinets is intended to resist foods, beverages and household agents normally found in today’s homes.

Thermofoil Cabinetry

Thermofoil cabinets are durable, but can be damaged by excessive heat. You need to make sure your installer properly installs heat shields/panels to protect cabinets adjacent to ovens, dishwashers and ranges.

It is a good precaution to open doors and drawers away from oven during self –cleaning cycles; the high-temperature will damage your cabinets. Damage caused by heat will not be covered under warranty.

Stainless Steel Cabinetry

Stainless Steel Cabinet doors should be cleaned using a soft cloth and a stainless steel cleaner.

 Ultralux Cabinetry

Ultralux cabinets are covered with a film from the manufacturer to protect the high- gloss surfaces. Remove the film after your cabinets are installed. Use a microfiber cloth or other very soft cloth with a non-abrasive soap or detergent.

The way you feel about your location and surrounding areas play a big roll when deciding if you move or stay at your current home. Studies shows that about 70-75% of homeowners with the remodel – or move dilemma ultimately decide to stay in their home and make upgrades, addressing their lifestyle’s needs.A home equity line could help you pay for the improvements. The results of remodeling your home could be the best of both worlds- a home that fits your needs and lifestyle located in the neighborhood you like with the memories you love.

Before you move forward with your remodeling, make sure your dreams are realistic with your budget. Put in writing all your renovation goals and attach a price tag to each goal. This will help you keep your budget under control.

If your decision to move to a new home has to do with the need for more space, think in reconfiguring your home by making a more efficient layout. Consider adding a deck. It has been determined that at the time of the sale of your home, you will recoup more than 80 percent of the money you spend adding a deck. Minneapolis Contractor’s Choice offers all the products from ABC Supply to help you save money on your decking materials. We also have a network of contractors to help you stay on budget.

Considering that we can help you save time and money on your remodel, take advantage and finish your basement and add a bathroom to it. A basement space can be easily turned into a bar, man cave, media room or guest room. Attic conversions are also a good option to increase the living space, add an office or playroom. Make sure to add Energy Efficient Fixtures to your home.

Kitchen Remodel will always give you the best return on investment. Make your kitchen really cook. A kitchen and bathroom update equal added value. You will not only have the feeling of a new home, but you will get more than 90% return on investment due to the increase in the price of your home when the remodeling is done.

Go with stainless steel appliances, quartz or granite countertops. If you care to make your kitchen germ free go with quartz countertops for the kitchen and you can add granite countertops in any other part of your home.

Another easy way to renew your home is by replacing your degraded carpets and rugs. We carry different types of carpet for your budget and needs, including waterproof carpet, and luxury residential Fabrica carpet.

Take a pen and paper and walk around your home and make a list of all the things in need of repair; believe it or not small repairs can make a difference in the way your home looks. If walls or doors are covered with scratch marks, you have to fix it. We offer you 40% to 60% Discounts on Sherwin Williams products.

Another important factor are your doors, cabinets and bath hardware. We offer a complete selection of the latest designs of coordinating knobs, pulls, multi-point lock trim and many other hardware products that will make your home look great. We carry Emtek Hardware at wholesale prices.

One important factor to consider when adding the cost of remodeling vs buying a new home is the cost associated with the realtor and the home selling cost. Furthermore, the cost to finance your new home, the cash you need to put down, the cost to move and the cost to add the things you like/want to your new home.
